For Sister

March 31, 2011

God Bless her in-laws.  They are so much fun.  At a wedding this past weekend, a cousin of her husband’s says “Oh, honey, we’re past Cajun.  We’re just country.”

I think she meant hillbilly.  ‘Cause I was under the impression Cajun was a step below country, not above.  And where does a redneck stand in the strange hierarchy of the South?  Below or above a hick?

Edited to add:  Where do I stand in this hierarchy?!!!
