Solving Those Problems – Starling Style

September 19, 2011

My father-in-law hates air conditioning, so commercial flying is not his cup of tea. In order to solve this problem and get him to visit us, we’ve decided to send my dad over to India in the Cessna.

He’s en route.

(No, not really.)

Many thanks to Skydive East Texas’ resident photographer, who provided me the photo of our Cessna.

I was wondering how in the world that would actually work.

Well, it is entirely possible, although expensive, long, and not exactly comfortable. He’d have to go south through Mexico, then head east in South America, cross the Atlantic, cross over Africa, up through the Middle East, and then over the Arabian Sea… or something like that. Remember, it’s a jump plane so there aren’t any seats in the plane. 😉

I’m surprised there is enough gas to get across the Atlantic. Don’t give him any ideas!

I think that’s what makes this so funny to me. Because it’s exactly something dad would spend days, nay weeks, trying to figure out how to do, just so he’d know.

Something as simple as a lack of fuel capacity wouldn’t stop him from trying. He would simply keep some paddles in the plane for the remainder of the trip after the fuel ran out.
