The Bride Wore Black

February 17, 2012

A new friend just got married and Baba and I were invited to the wedding. It was a lovely wedding with a very 50’s vibe to it. Her dress wasn’t really black, but it did have black trimmings. See:

The Back

I love it. It has just enough of a traditional feel that you know instantly that it’s a wedding dress, but is also completely unique. The wedding itself was at a beautiful location – an old school-house. The reception was in a gym and they really utilized that 50’s feel of the architecture to add ambiance to the event. Just look at the ceiling:

How adorable are they?

Mmmm.... cake.

Larger shot of the cake display. Gorgeous.

The bride has a cupcake business so the treats were divine and beautiful. I also believe that she styled the cake display herself, or with the help of another friend. Everything, not just the displays, had a homespun, DIY feel that instantly put you at ease and ready to have fun.

Cupcakes in a jar!

It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever been to.  Thanks to both the bride and groom for inviting us not only to your wedding, but to your circle of friendship.

Thanks for the compliment on the photos! I’m a work in progress as a photographer. Well… not just photography, of course. 😉
