My Friend’s Abode

September 9, 2012

Mixing up the outdoors with some indoors: On the way back from Yosemite I missed my flight and had to stay at a friend’s house overnight. While it sucked to be a day behind on everything, it was kind of great to spend time with a good friend who I don’t see that often. When she took me to her apartment, I was delighted by how cute the place was. The whole place was vintage 1930’s and her style is very mid-century modern. The eclectic look matches her perfectly. There was funky art on all the walls and bright colors in every corner. She’s a graphic designer by education and in advertising now, and the whole place was a perfect fit. I took some shots and compiled them into some HDR’s. I don’t normally go for the painterly effect on my photos, even my HDR’s, but this totally called for it.

She wanted to tidy up the kitchen table, but I loved it just the way it was. Lived in, with a bright red box peeping out behind the built-in’s door. The ultra wide-angle lens that I used really added to the effect I think.
